Staff profile

Esti Zilber
Creative Producer, SOUNDS AUSTRALIA

Years worked at APRA AMCOS:

This December will mark 8 years working with SOUNDS AUSTRALIA, under the custodianship of APRA AMCOS

What do you love most about APRA AMCOS?

I have always found APRA AMCOS to be an incredibly supportive and dynamic place to work. Everyone (quite deservedly) takes a great deal of pride in what they do, and who they do it for. That kind of dedication is truly inspiring and infectious. It creates a work environment I am genuinely excited to return to daily.

What makes you happy at work?

The incredible SOUNDS AUSTRALIA team, and the fact we get to support the creative and professional endeavours and aspirations of Australian artists all over the world, the support we receive from the many different APRA AMCOS departments, the thoughtful initiatives implemented to keeping staff inspired and informed. And Karen Tinman’s baking prowess.

How has APRA AMCOS shaped your career?

APRA AMCOS and SOUNDS AUSTRALIA took me on with relatively little experience in music export and limited international contacts. In my time here I have been given the opportunities and tools to develop extremely broad Australian and international networks and the ability to set in to international markets with a view to represent and promote the Australian music industry with confidence and pride.

I have been encouraged to shape my own career trajectory and expand my skill set by constantly being given room to grow professionally, exposure to experiences that challenge that inspire me, and always having a sense my opinion and voice is valued. In an ever evolving program, I have faith there is still a LOT more to learn.

What was your main reason for wanting to join APRA AMCOS?

I wanted to be in a role where I could be part of a tangible support network for artists and creators
