West Australian 2019 NAIDOC Music Awards - nominations close
The search for the most deadly West Australian emerging indigenous artists is on with nominations open until 11.59pm Tuesday August 20th for the inaugural WA NAIDOC Music Awards.

The NAIDOC Music Awards has been developed to recognise the importance of awarding our talented indigenous musicians across nine different categories that will see even unrecorded artists acknowledged for their talent.
To be eligible to be nominated for a NAIDOC Music Award you, or the lead singer/songwriter of your band, must be Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and any song submitted must be original.

VIC: UpStart Singer-Songwriter Award entries close
The UpStart Award is an annual grant of $10,000 to an emerging Victoria singer-songwriter. The award is funded by a music loving family in Melbourne and the winner will be decided by a panel of local artists and music experts.
The award will be adjudicated by a panel consisting of Victorian artists Cash Savage and Henry Wagons, and a range of industry experts from community radio, retail, and streaming services.

ACT: Arts Activities Funding - Apply All Year Round
Arts Activities funding is available to ACT-based artists at all stages of their careers and to organisations providing the Canberra community with opportunities to engage in the arts. It supports artists, groups and arts organisations to undertake a broad range of activities including artform-based projects, mentorships, residencies, professional or skills development and opportunities for the community to actively engage in the arts.
Apply for up to $5,000 all year round for smaller projects. Applicants can only receive funding in this category once each calendar year, except in exceptional circumstances.

NSW: ZoneOut International Music Festival
The inaugural ZoneOut International Music Festival – combining live, neo-classical tunes with discussions about lifestyle and wellness – will be a one-day affair featuring performances from international and local artists, morning yoga sessions and film screenings.
The line-up includes festival ambassador Luke Howard and pianist Sophie Hutchings (both from Australia), German masked musician Lambert, UK-based cellist Peter Gregson and Dutch indie harpist Remy van Kesteren.
Also performing are Australian electronic producers Anatole and Double Touch, Kenyan singer-songwriter JS Ondara, Irish folk singer Sibeal and Australian pianist Kristian Chong.

Career Development Grants for Individuals and Groups - grant round closes
If you are an individual artist, arts worker or group of artists, a Career Development Grant can provide support to further develop your skills or improve your capacity to build an enduring career in the arts. Career Development grants are available from $5,000 to $25,000. These grants can support a broad range of activities such as skills and professional development, mentorships, showcases, residencies and other projects directly related to your career development. Supported activities must last no longer than two years from the proposed start date.

WA: Contemporary Music Fund Grant Program
The Contemporary Music Fund Grant Program will assist homegrown contemporary music artists with projects that enable them to produce and promote their work, building links nationally and internationally. 
The program provides funding support to the WA contemporary music sector across a range of activities.
The program offers grants in two categories:

  • U-15k for applications up to $15,000
  • 15k-plus for applications $15,000 to $60,000.

Export Market Development Grants - applications close
The Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) scheme is a key Australian Government financial assistance program for aspiring and current exporters. Administered by Austrade, the scheme supports a wide range of industries.
You must complete and submit your online application, including all required documents, between 1 July and midnight (AEDT) 2 December 2019, or use an approved EMDG Quality Incentive Program (QIP) Consultant who can lodge a claim on your behalf until midnight Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT) 3 March 2020.

National Live Music Awards Gala Event
The National Live Music Awards (NLMAs) are a broad recognition of Australia’s diverse and successful live industry, celebrating the diversity and success of the Australian live scene – recognising the best vocal talents and musicians alongside the best venues, events and festivals.
The national awards will be revealed at the gala event, while the State and Territory awards will be revealed at satellite events in their respective capital cities. The event will be held on 4th December 2019.

Funding is available through the Contemporary Music Grant Program for South Australian based artists and representatives of artists that are composing and performing original music.
This program is delivered by the MUSIC DEVELOPMENT OFFICE (MDO).
Round Three: Closing date 9 December 2019, for activity that commences after 1 March 2020.
