USA - Australia Rocks the Pier 2017

Do you want to be the Opening Act of Australia Rocks the Pier in Santa Monica, USA 2017?

A panel will pick the winner from online entries. To enter, send us a demo, a bio, a band/artists photograph along with a 50-word blurb explaining what it means to you to be part of G’Day USA’s Australia Rocks the Pier 2017. The best entries will be posted on the G’Day USA Facebook page as well as shared on the G’Day USA Twitter account and the G’Day USA Instagram account. All entries and enquiries should be emailed to gdayusaproduction@gmail.com. Entries close 30 June 2017, at 5pm PDT.

HOW THE COMPETITION WORKS:

Entries are now open! Entry is free. All artists with acceptable entries emailed to gdayusaproduction@gmail.com during this time will be eligible. Acceptable entries must include one demo video or audio track along with a bio, band/artist photograph and a 50-word blurb explaining what it means to you to play as part of G’Day USA’s Australia Rocks the Pier 2017.

We will be choosing one winner only. The winner will be chosen by an Australia Rocks the Pier Artist Committee consisting of representatives of the Santa Monica Pier, industry experts and event sponsors (“Committee”). The winner will be picked based on the Committee’s assessment of their ability to deliver a live performance suitable for an Australia Rocks the Pier/Twilight Dance Series audience. Individuals or groups may enter.

The winner will be announced 7 July 017. The concert is Thursday, 27 July 2017.

The prize consists of the following:

  • An opportunity to perform at G’Day USA’s Australia Rocks the Pier 2017 on the Santa Monica Pier - 27 July 2017

Terms & Conditions

The prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash. The winner is responsible for any and all travel and accommodation costs and expenses associated with the acceptance and utilisation of the prize.

No replacement will be offered in the event that the prize cannot be claimed on the stipulated date.

The Committee’s decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

The Committee is not obliged to select any of the Entries.

Entrants grant the Committee the right to upload their tracks, photograph and/or blurb in whole or in part to G’Day USA’s social media pages.

Entrants agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions set out below. Submission of an Entry in the Competition indicates acceptance by the Entrant of these Terms and Conditions.

A biennial feature on the Newcastle music calendar, The Newkulele Festival offers a fantastic weekend celebrating the sounds of the ukulele. This unique event is open to all the family and suitable for any age group, and has a special appeal for music lovers.

The Festival features international acts and players from across Australia covering a wide range of music styles and accompanying instruments. Come along for two days and nights to feast on the diversity of sounds created around the beautiful, humble ukulele. The festival offers three stages of FREE music, markets, open mic opportunities, a cafe and bar, as well as showcasing two fabulous ticketed evening concerts, and workshops -  all inside Newcastle City Hall.

The Access Arts Achievement Award provides up to $10,000 in funding for Queensland artists, arts workers and producers with disability working in any art form to create, develop, present, produce, exhibit and/or tour their work.

This is the fifth and final year (2018) of the $10,000 Award. The Award is made possible by a generous donation from Access Arts Life Member, singer-song-writer Peter Vance.
Projects may start from 1 January 2019 and must be completed within 12 months or an alternative timeline approved by Access Arts.
Applications will be assessed based on the project’s artistic and/or cultural merit and innovation, opportunity for professional development and project viability.
