It’s time. Or is it? The road to Constitutional Recognition

In 1967, 90 per cent of Australian voters said ‘yes’ to change the Constitution to give the Federal Government power to make laws for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and to ensure Indigenous people were counted equally in the population count. Now, 50 years on, and with another referendum on the horizon, we look at the impact of the vote.

What have we achieved and what lies ahead? How is recognition of First Nations Peoples in the Constitution expected make a difference? What role can the creative community play moving forward?

Join the debate as journalist Brooke Boney leads a panel featuring RECOGNISE Campaign Director Mark Yettica-Paulson,  representative of Fighting In Solidarity Towards Treaties (FISTT) Lynda-June Coeoutspoken hip hop artist Ziggy and more to be announced. Ziggy will perform after the panel discussion.
