A new Professional Development Series is coming to Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney in October;
Adelaide, Perth and Darwin in November.

In response to the tremendous amount of applications and interest in the inaugural Female Mentoring program, we wanted to provide more 'In Real Life' resources for women and non-binary members who are looking for creative and business skills to support them in their professional pursuits. Where to begin? We'll be addressing the inner critic head on with Next Act Coaching's Professional Coach Viv Fantin.

Do you have an inner critic ruining your life? You know, that voice in your head that can make you feel like an imposter or turn you into a perfectionist. Or it makes you procrastinate and stops you from pushing forward with goals and big ideas.

How can you shake off that pesky inner critic?

Let's unpack it all with Coach Viv, who will deliver her interactive presentation Tune Out Your Inner Critic for APRA AMCOS members in events in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Darwin, Adelaide and Perth.

You might know Coach Viv through her very popular blog series for our website, her inspiring presentation at this year's BIGSOUND, as well as her legendary music and event publicity work

Over the course of a couple of hours, Coach Viv will address in her interactive presentation:

  • how the inner critic can seek to undermine and silence us
  • how it stops us taking risks because we fear failure
  • how to help you identify, manage and choose your response to the the inner critic's noise

We'll have time for networking and questions before wrapping for the night.

Mon 26 November
St. Paul's Creative Centre, Pulteney St & Flinders St, Adelaide
Doors 5:30pm, for 6pm-8pm program

AusMusic T-Shirt Day is a massive nation-wide celebration of Australian music that reminds us how lucky we are to have such a strong local music scene, with some of the world’s best artists coming out of our own backyard.
But many people are doing it tough. Please join Support Act to raise funds for artists and music workers who are experiencing financial hardship, ill health, injury or mental health issues.
Whether you are an artist, music worker or music lover, we invite you to make a donation, and then post and share your best band t-shirt pics, using the hashtags #ausmusictshirtday, @supportact.

ARIA (the Australian Recording Industry Association) and Virgin Australia are excited to announce that submissions for the second ARIA Emerging Artist Scholarship are now open.

The Scholarship is open to any Australian artist (represented by a current ARIA member) that hasn’t been previously nominated for any ARIA Awards category with an Album or Single before the 2018 Awards (ie 2018 entrants / nominees are eligible).

ARIA, in partnership with Virgin Australia, first introduced this initiative to acknowledge how much travel plays a role in building the career of an artist. This partnership was built to help support an emerging artist’s travel both domestically and internationally, to help them launch their career.

To enter, all ARIA members need to do is tell us what their proposed artist’s 2019 promotional strategy is, including a US tour plan and a brief description on how ARIA and Virgin Australia can help to achieve these tour plans and ambitions.

Please ensure that all submissions are sent through to awards@aria.com.au by 16 November 2018 for judging by ARIA and Virgin Australia representatives.  Note that entries are restricted to two per Member.
