Australia Rocks the Pier 2019 competition

Australia Rocks the Pier is held on Santa Monica’s iconic pier as part of the annual Twilight Concert Series – one of the largest and most successful free festival-style concert series in Southern California.
 
The 10th annual Australia Rocks the Pier will feature performances by contemporary Australian artists. In addition, The Australian Consulate in Los Angeles, in collaboration with APRA AMCOS, holds a contest giving two Australian artists or bands (and members of APRA AMCOS) a chance to perform as part of the evening. Australia Rocks the Pier is historically one of the most popular concerts in the series regularly attracting 20,000+ cheering fans.

This year the event will be held on Wednesday September 18th, 2019.

Do you want a chance to perform at Australia Rocks the Pier 2019 in Santa Monica, CA?

One APRA AMCOS member (or group) will be selected as the supporting act for the main stage at this year's event. A panel will pick the winner from online entries. To enter, simply complete the form including a 50-word blurb explaining what it means to you to be part of Australia Rocks the Pier 2019.

A 2nd APRA AMCOS member (or group) will be selected to perform on the West End Stage. A panel will pick the winner from online entries. To enter, simply complete the form including a 50-word blurb explaining what it means to you to be part of Australia Rocks the Pier 2019.

HOW THE COMPETITION WORKS:

We will be choosing two winners only. The winners will be chosen by an Australia Rocks the Pier Artist Committee consisting of representatives of the Santa Monica Pier Corporation curators, industry experts and event sponsors (“Committee”). The winners will be picked based on the Committee’s assessment of their ability to deliver a live performance suitable for an Australia Rocks the Pier audience, on the given stage – in collaboration with the selected headliner performer for the evening. Individuals or groups may enter.

The winners will be advised on July 22nd. The concert is Wednesday 18th of September 2019.

The prize consists of the following:

  • An opportunity to perform at  Australia Rocks the Pier 2019 on the Santa Monica Pier (Part of the Santa Monica Twilight Concert Series)

TERMS & CONDITIONS

The prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash. The winner is responsible for any and all travel and accommodation costs and expenses associated with the acceptance and utilisation of the prize.

The winner(s) will be paid a performance fee of up to $500 USD. Travel and accommodation are not included.

  • You must be licensed to work/be paid in the U.S.
  • No replacement will be offered in the event that the prize cannot be claimed on the stipulated date.
  • The Committee’s decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • The Committee is not obliged to select any of the Entries.
  • Entrants grant the Committee the right to upload their tracks, photograph and/or blurb in whole or in part to Los Angeles Consulate/ G’Day USA/ Santa Monica Pier. social media pages.
  • Entrants agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions set out below. Submission of an Entry in the Competition indicates acceptance by the Entrant of these Terms and Conditions.
