Amba Shepherd becomes APRA AMCOS Ambassador

Wednesday, 14 Dec 2016

Globetrotting dance music heavyweight Amba Shepherd is the latest APRA AMCOS member to come on board as an Ambassador.

Having worked with some of the biggest names in electronic music, including Armin Van Buuren, Hardwell, Tiësto, Afrojack and Porter Robinson among others, the topline writer and singer has one of the most recognisable voices on the dancefloor. Now, she’s just released her debut solo single, Prelude [Rest in Peace], and is looking forward to a big 2017.

“I am so, so honoured and super excited to be newly appointed ambassador to APRA AMCOS.  APRA AMCOS is an incredible member oriented organisation that is essentially the backbone of the Australian music industry,” says Amba.

“At this stage of my career, going on six years of being a full-time fully independent artist, I spend more time writing and touring in the US, Europe and Asia than I am on the ground in Sydney.

“I think that gives me a unique opportunity to proudly fly the flag for Australian songwriters based all over the world and it also gives me the opportunity to foster and support talent coming up the ranks which is really exciting.

“Music is a really tough career path for artists and songwriters, and support from APRA AMCOS in the form of the many programs they offer provides an amazing sense of community that is so invaluable, no matter where you are at in your career."

“I am so excited to be part of this incredible crew and can’t wait to see what 2017 holds.”
