The Josh Pyke Partnership today announces its 2018 winner, talented Tasmanian electro-alternative duo Sumner, who are receiving a fair amount of attention for their “keen grasp of brooding, addictive melody” (Mixdown Magazine) and the compelling songwriting on their recently released debut EP All That I Am.

"We’re beyond stoked and honoured to be the 2018 recipients of the Josh Pyke Partnership. Thanks so much to Josh Pyke, Wonderlick Entertainment, Select Music and APRA AMCOS for giving these Tassie kids a go,” said Jack McLaine and Chloe Wilson (Sumner).

Made possible by Josh Pyke and APRA AMCOS the partnership aims to connect an unsigned musician with the exciting opportunity to receive mentorship and funding that will help to grow their career.

"The Josh Pyke Partnership aims to have real impact on a developing career, it’s an initiative that APRA AMCOS is proud to be involved with for the fifth year in a row. Congrats to Sumner, who are very deserving of this grant and honour,” commented Jana Gibson, APRA AMCOS Head of Member Services.

Sumner will be awarded a $7,500 grant to kick-start their music career. In addition to the financial reward they will also receive valuable insight and mentorship from Josh Pyke himself and a meeting with Gregg Donovan (Wonderlick Entertainment) and Stephen Wade (Select Music).
