International Womens Day: Membership drive

Tuesday, 06 Mar 2018

We're throwing open the doors in search of the next generation of female songwriters and composers!

This Thursday 8 March is International Women's Day and we'll be celebrating all the excellent, talented, hard-working women we know who are involved with music and songwriting. However only 21.7% of our songwriter members identify as female, and we’re actively trying to remedy that!

If you know any female songwriters who might not yet be members, or are just interested in learning more about an APRA AMCOS membership, give them a nudge in our direction.

NSW, VIC and WA

We’ll be opening our offices to interested members of the public in NSW, VIC and WA between 2-6pm to allow time to meet with us face to face. Email writer@apra.com.au or give us a call on 1800 642 634 to book a time. Or just rock up, and say hi!

QLD, SA and NT

In QLD, SA and NT we're holding Songwriter Speaks sessions with some of our female success stories, and non-members are encouraged to come along and find out more about joining as a songwriter member. Make sure to RSVP as spaces are limited.

SA - Songwriter Speaks: Kelly Menhennett and MANE
NT - Songwriter Speaks: Caiti Baker
QLD - Songwriter Speaks: Marie DeVita (WAAX) & May Lyn

We're committed not only to helping songwriters make money from their music, but also to advocating for the rights of songwriters and musicians, and promoting the value of music for everyone.
