Donate your Gift of Music instrument at APRA AMCOS' head office

Got a a child-sized violin at home that someone outgrew? Perhaps you inherited a trombone that's not going to just play itself? Or maybe, just maybe, you have a few too many guitars and need to make a little extra space in the studio? (for a new one).

Good news, you can drop off that instrument at APRA AMCOS head office and give the Gift of Music

Gift of Music is an initiative of Rural Aid (the charity behind Buy a Bale), it's a program that collects and distributes pre-loved and new musical instruments to rural and remote schools to allow “young people who might otherwise never have the chance to learn an instrument, be part of an ensemble, build self-esteem and self-confidence, develop a skill and a love that may last a lifetime”.

We're pretty sure that there are thousands of instruments across Australia, under beds or in cupboards, that aren’t being used. So Gift of Music is asking all Australians who have an instrument not in use, to donate it and share the resources around. The gift of music can change a child’s life. The gift of an instrument to a small rural school can change many children’s lives, and too many of these schools are in urgent need of orchestral and band instruments.

Donations can be dropped at our Sydney Office Reception during business hours 8:30am-5pm M-F, and will be collected weekly by Rural Aid. If you’re located outside Sydney and have an instrument you’d like to donate, a list of drop-off points can be found here. Spread the word to your neighbours and friends, as we are a donation point open to the public.

Gift of Music does request that instruments donated be in good playable condition, minor repairs - a broken string, an out-of-tune guitar - are acceptable. Contact Gift of Music if you want to make sure your donation is suitable.
