Online Copyright Infringement Discussion Papers

APRA AMCOS recently submitted an in-depth response to the Federal Government’s Online Copyright Infringement Discussion Paper.

As an organisation that represents the interests of music creators, we welcome the Government’s proposals. They are designed to reduce online piracy in Australia to ensure rights holders are fairly rewarded for their work.

The creative industry sector is committed to working with the Government and other stakeholders to develop a legal framework which ensures there are effective and flexible processes in place to protect copyright online.

We encourage our members and the wider public to read our submission and that of Music Rights Australia, which endorse the Government’s proposals but suggest some legal fine tuning which we believe will make the proposals even more effective in achieving the Government’s stated aims.
