Catherine Giuliano - Director, OneMusic General Licensing

Years worked at APRA AMCOS:

I’ve worked for APRA AMCOS twice – 1st time from 1999 to 2002, 2nd time from 2008 to now. Therefore total of 15 years.

What do you love most about APRA AMCOS?

I love working with my tribe and for my tribe. I love the purpose of what ARPA AMCOS do and the passion of the people that make up the organisation. I also love the fast pace and working in a highly dynamic environment surrounded by clever people.

What makes you happy at work?

Mostly my clever passionate staff. I’m also happy at those times when we our message is understood by licensees and the general public of what we do and how important our role is for music creators. I must admit also that I’m happy hitting targets.

How has APRA AMCOS shaped your career?

APRA AMCOS in the 90s played a role (not the only role but a big role) in my ability to operate successfully outside the company in my career overseas with a publisher, in Australia working for the Government and also working at CAL. When I came back after acquiring experience, including life experience, I was employed by APRA AMCOS in positions of leadership.  As I say to my staff, the skills you gain from being a good Licensing Rep means you can basically handle anything professionally and if you remain a team player, are empathetic whilst being results focused success is yours if you want it.

What was your main reason for wanting to join APRA AMCOS?

I was a TV Producer and was looking for a stable 9 to 5 job in the arts. That was the only driver. I’d never heard of APRA AMCOS at the time.
