APRA AMCOS is thrilled to hear that our APRA Ambassador Ashley Irwin has just been elected as President of the Society of Composers & Lyricists (SCL) in the United States.  Ashley has been an APRA member for almost 30 years. This appointment marks the first time in SCL’s history the position has been not been held by a member of a U.S. performing right organisation.

Best know for his collaborations with Bill Conti, Clint Eastwood and his work on 17 Oscar shows, Ashley Irwin relocated to the US in 1990 after a successful career in Australian TV, having composed theme songs for shows likes of E Street, Richmond Hill, All The Way and Willing & Abel . His latest feature film, The Pardon, was released in March and he has two more films scheduled for theatrical release later this year.

As our Film & Television APRA Ambassador, Ashley brings a wealth of experience to share with his fellow APRA members. Watch this interview with him to get an insight into how to make the move overseas a successful one.
