Ella and Joel took out the coveted Song of the Year for the worldwide smash hit ‘Royals’ as well as Best Pop Solo Performance for the same song.

This is the second year running that APRA AMCOS members have reached the top of the charts across the globe, with Ella and Joel’s success following Goyte’s hit ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’.

“The Grammys remain the most prestigious and important music awards in the world. For Ella and Joel to have taken out this award  – and we all know that Song of the Year is the pinnacle – is a wonderful and magnificent achievement,” said APRA AMCOS CEO Brett Cottle. “We are so proud that both Ella and Joel have chosen APRA AMCOS as their authors’ society.”

Last year, ‘Royals’ won the 2013 APRA Silver Scroll award in New Zealand.

Congratulations also to the Australian Chamber Orchestra directed by award-winning APRA member, Richard Tognetti, for their performance of Winter Morning Walks, composed by Maria Schneider. This work won three Grammys including Best Contemporary Classical Composition.
