Thursday, 05 Dec 2013

On Sunday, December 8, the world’s largest short film festival Tropfest, took place in Sydney’s Centennial Park.

As part of the celebrations, APRA Ambassador Tina Arena presented the Tropscore winner Michael Lira, with his award – congratulations! The following night, Michael succeeded in taking out the prize for Best Music for a Documentary for The A-Z of Contemporary Art at the 2013 Screen Music Awards, topping off an incredible year for the talented composer.

The judges awarded 15-year-old Alana Patmore with the top prize for Tropscore Jr. She’s now well on her way to an exciting career in music, having already won numerous eisteddfods and songwriting competitions with plans to invest her prize money in studio time.

“When I found out that I was the winner, I was absolutely shocked and amazed,” she said. “It is such a honour to receive this award and I am so grateful to everyone for their support.”
