'Sailboat', the second single from their forthcoming debut album, is full of lush harmonies and dreamy melodies. Fitting for their first single of the new year, it is a song about new starts and hopeful futures.

All Our Exes Live In Texas boast an all-killer lineup of some of Sydney's finest musical talent, featuring Elana Stone, Katie Wighton, Hannah Crofts & Georgia Mooney - all beautiful performers in their own right, joining forces in an earth-shaking four-piece formation.

The girls have been making waves across the country with rave reviews and sell-out shows throughout 2014. To celebrate the release of 'Sailboat' they will be taking off on a sprawling national tour that includes headline shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

Previous single 'Tell Me', released in late 2014, continues to enjoy nation-wide airplay and its accompanying music video received glowing praise.

'Sailboat' is taken from the upcoming debut album from All Our Exes Live In Texas, due later in 2015.

Melbourne tunesmith, Andrew Swift has just recently put out his new single Sound The Alarm alongside a host of shows across Melbourne and Adelaide throughout March.

A timeless, heartfelt ballad, Sound The Alarm is as stripped back and raw as Swift gets.  “My songs have always been of a personal storytelling nature, but ‘Sound The Alarm’ is about as honest and personal as it’s been so far,” explains Swift.  “It was written during the hardest break up I’ve had to go through, but rather than write a heartbroken, ‘woe is me’ type of break up song, what came out was a reflection of the night that that we met.”

Filmed by Tom Crotty alongside Umesh & Szabo Productions, the clip for Sound The Alarm showcases Swift’s adept ballroom dancing skills in an abstract memoir.

Swift has hit the ground running in 2015 already having performed at this year’s Tamworth Country Music Festival and now releasing his new single and tour.

Driven by long-term collaborators Phil McCourt and Alex OʼToole, CaptainKickarse and the Awesomes are at the forefront of Sydneyʼsindependent underground. After a long period of inaction, the band has finallyreturned refreshed and renewed with their debut full-length album

GrimRepercussions, released through Birds Robe Records.

After parting ways with their previous bass player, the pair have weaved a vast array of influences and musical styles into a confronting and creative debut effort, rife with their signature rhythmic complexities and explosive energy. Engaging Birds Robe label-mate Alex Wilson (from Sydney post-rock heavyweights sleepmakeswaves) to lay down bass tracks in the studio, the self-produced record shows the band at the top of their game; a relentless yet highly danceable example of musical technicality.

Now joined on stage by bassist Simeon Bartholomew (SEIMS, Godswounds), the band are officially back on the scene to tour across the country in support of the new record.

Cracked Actor are a musical collective which comfortably reside on the precipice of strange and eclectic soundscapes which dip and weave the listener through an exotic musical labyrinth of streams of consciousness; sometimes full of suspense whilst other moments are laden with serene and buoyant sensations.

The Canberra based four piece have just released their debut album entitled Iconoclast (a follow up to their 2012 EP Solar Driftwood) earlier this month and are self-described as a foremost example of a band that “map the subtle atmospherics and wonky time-signatures of the bedroom producer onto the sweaty riffage and disciplined song structures of the pub band.”

Cracked Actor was the brainchild of Sebastian Field who is a self-confessed Aphex Twin/Flying Lotus addict and singer/songwriter/guitarist, who formed the band a few years ago by recruiting fellow musicians Grahame Thompson (drums), Matthew Lustri (guitar), and Nick Delatovic (bass).

The band are excited to be showcasing tracks from the album on a national tour throughout March and April. Keep an eye on your gig guides for details.

Sydney based indie pop outfit Francisco’s Fortune have just released their latest single ‘The Bells’, and have announced their single launch at the Oxford Arts Factory (Gallery Bar) on Thursday March 19.

Francisco’s Fortune is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist and singer, Manik Mayadunne.

Mayadunne began writing, performing and recording songs in his bedroom as a teenager, and continued to refine his art through university. Mayadunne has honed his striking live show through countless performances both locally and abroad.

It was at the beginning of 2014 that the decision was made to take time out of full-time medicine to pursue his musical career, and so Francisco’s Fortune was born. With a new alias came a new chapter of melodies and lyrics.

Mayadunne has since teamed up with ARIA-nominated sound engineer and producer Lachlan Mitchell to record his debut EP at the luscious Jungle Studios in Sydney.

Francisco’s Fortune have received airplay on ABC Rage, as well as over 150 radio stations throughout Australia for debut single ‘Magnetic Lines’, which also gained positive traction via online outlets such as Hype Machine, Hhhhappy, TheMusic.com.au, Tone Deaf and Vulture Magazine plus many more.

‘The Bells’ is available for download on iTunes, and is taken from his upcoming debut EP set to be released later in 2015.

Wollongong four piece Leadfinger hold onto the philosophy ‘better late than never’ given it has taken them a couple of years to get around to making a music video for the song ‘The Wandering Man’ from their 2013 Citadel Records critically acclaimed release No Room At The Inn.

The video clip was produced by Sharon Lewis and Rick Jones at Kontrol Productions and is a true testimonial to the wanderlust most musicians, who choose the life of touring and the road, take on. Shot in studio as well as at various locations such as an old fashioned train station, the narrative states not to question it, and that roaming is a natural part of a band’s lifestyle ,whether they like it or not.

Leadfinger, who play their own brand of 70s rock tinged blues/power-pop and punk, is fronted by guitar slinger/singer-songwriter and indie rock icon Scottish-born Stewart Cunningham. Stewart has been a fixture in the Australian underground music scene for the past 20 years and performed in legendary Australian outfits over that time such as Proton Energy Pills, Asteroid B-612, Brother Brick, Challenger-7, and The Yes Men.

Along with Cunningham, the band comprises of Dillon Hicks, (drums), Reggie Screen (bass), and Michael Boyle (guitar/vocals).

Acclaimed Improvisational trio The Necks have returned to Australia for a national tour running across dates in February and March to coincide with recording a new album.

The Necks are one of Australia’s great cult bands - they have been playing together for over 25 years and are celebrated world-wide for creating immersive, hypnotic concert experiences over two one-hour completely improvised sets, with acoustic piano (Chris Abrahams), acoustic bass (Lloyd Swanton) and drums (Tony Buck). The Necks walk on stage and they start playing. Nothing is planned or discussed. The trust that has developed over quarter of a century of playing together creates a unique musical symbiosis.
From their beginnings as a private jamming project with an adamant intention not to perform publicly, The Necks now travel the world to play, with two European tours planned this year.

In contrast to their live performances, their studio albums are often intricately crafted and discussed by the trio in the mixing process. Their last studio album – the sparse, minimal Open received international critical acclaim.

It remains to be seen and heard what The Necks’ journey into the studio will conjure this time around.
“I’m really excited to be getting back into the studio with Chris and Tony” says bassist Lloyd Swanton. “When we’re not performing as The Necks, the three of us are always doing interesting musical things in different parts of the globe, and we bring all that to the table when we start work on a new album.”

The last gig on their tour is in Sydney on March 14 at the Basement.

Melbourne’s newest hip hop icon and Melbourne Music Bank runner up, NYUON has recently released his debut single ‘Your City’, out last month and is celebrating with a launch at The Workers Club Melbourne on March 13.

Originally written and recorded by NYUON and produced by high school friend, Cris Gamble in his home studio, ‘Your City’ was recently re-recorded at Sing Sing Studios after the song secured him second place in Bank of Melbourne’s 2014 Melbourne Music Bank (MMB).

Shot and directed by acclaimed filmmaker George Kalpa, the clip for ‘Your City’ fittingly carries the vibe of old school hip hop video clips from the early 90’s.

After receiving encouraging praise from music industry professionals for his performance at the Melbourne Music Bank finale held at the Melbourne Recital Centre, NYUON is keen to get out there and show Melbourne what he’s all about.

NYUON will be releasing a full-length album in the near future.

Tickets for the launch are available from www.theworkersclub.com.au.

Acclaimed Sydney mavericks, The Tango Saloon, are excited to release their brand new album ‘Suspicion’ out through Romero Records which features guest vocalist Elana Stone.

Suspicion is the fourth album from The Tango Saloon, following on from the self-titled debut released on Mike Patton's Ipecac Recordings in 2006, Transylvania (2008) and Shadows & Fog (2012). While these three albums were a largely instrumental blend of experimental tango and spaghetti western scores (and everything in between), the new album is more song-based, featuring Stone on 9 out of its 14 tracks.

Elana Stone has been making waves on the Sydney music scene for over 10 years, starting off in a jazz vein and gradually moving to other realms including rock, pop, bluegrass and theatre. Performing on and off with The Tango Saloon since 2006, Stone became more integral after collaborating with Curwin on the song 'In Black And White', released as a single in 2013, with remixes from Tales In Space and Luke Dubber (Hermitude), and an amazing video clip directed by Julian Shaw.

The Tango Saloon are launching their album Suspicion at the Basement in Sydney on Thursday 12th March at 7pm. Grab tickets at thebasement.com.au.
