We're heading to Brisbane next week for BIGSOUND. It's Australia's largest music industry conference with 101 speakers, 150 showcasing artists and a jam-packed program from September 9 - 11. There are panel discussions on music publishing, sync opportunities, community radio, women in music, touring domestically and abroad, digital distribution, music copyright, publicity and countless other topics.

Are you a local APRA AMCOS member? We've organised for some great local, national and international speakers from BIGSOUND to come and talk to you for free.

Touring: Thursday 10 September

Do you want to know more about how to book a tour? Ever wondered what booking agents and promoters do? Join speakers from The Windish Agency (USA), WME, Vanguard Touring and BIGSOUND showcasing band A Breach Of Silence to find out how to get – and keep - your music on the road in Australia and beyond.

Contracts: Thursday 10 September

Do you really need a band agreement? Would you understand a contract if you saw one? Why should you have a co-writing partnership? What can recording contracts do for you as a songwriter? We have representatives from Studio Legal/Look Out Kid, Rice Is Nice and Saddle Creek (USA) on hand to demystify the wide world of contracts and agreements.

Meet The Managers: Wednesday 9 September

We've teamed up with the Australian Association of Artist Managers to give you the opportunity to meet three successful music managers - Maggie Collins, Briese Abbott and Yvette Myhill - in an exclusive ‘speed dating’ format. This is a rare chance to sit with some of Australia’s best music managers and discuss how to approach the business aspect of your music career.

RSVP to these great events by emailing qld@apra.com.au by Monday 7 September.
